… or whatever you prefer to call it, how about the best caramel sauce you have ever tasted? Mmm I though so. If there’s one good thing about fall it’s definitely apple season(!!!). When you can just talk a few steps out back and grab a fresh 100% organic apple from that old apple tree your parents planted when you were born, or their parents before them…
Maybe… Anyways, that doesn’t really matter. What DOES matter is this sauce. This amazing, breathtaking caramel sauce. If you’ve never dipped apple slices in caramel sauce you obviously have missed out. It is brings out the kid in everyone, and I can promise you that. It makes you wanna keep eating the caramel, dipping your fingers in the jar.
To make this delicious sauce you will need…
- 2 cups sugar
- 200g butter (room temperature)
- 1 cup heavy cream (also room temperature)
- 1tbsp sea salt
Heat up a saucepan and melt the sugar on medium heat. When it catches a nice, warm lightbrown color it’s time to put in the butter! Whisk until it’s all melted and don’t worry about the angry bubbles or crackling noice. It’s fine, just be careful not to burn yourself.
When it’s all meted slowly add the cream followed by the salt. Let it cool down about 15 minutes before pouring it up in a pretty jar (or eating it right away)!
Well of course this works just as well with ice cream. Or brownies. Or coffee… You get it!
