A couple of months ago I (Becca) was in New York City for two weeks. And yes, it does sound like a lot of time, but when you are in New York, time does not exist. It’s like you live in a bubble and all of a sudden it pops, and you’re on a flight back. However, I brought back with me so many memories from my third time in the city that never sleeps. I discovered so many new hidden gems and new favorite spots, that I could (seriously) write a book full of them.
One of my favorite things to do is watch the sun set. Wherever I am, really. So when I discovered this perfect “sunset- watch- point” I fell in love with New York all over again.
I followed Grand Street all the way from Williamsburg Cinemas, literally chasing the sun. The light that night was so magical and Williamsburg turned in to an even prettier place. Strolling down Grand Street, passing cute wine-spots and perfect dinner restaurants makes you want to stop everywhere. But, the sun is on a tight schedule, so you better hurry.
And finally, after crossing Berry Street, Whyte Avenue, Kent Avenue & River Street you will find Grand Ferry Park. You’ll find people having picnics, kissing, photographing and enjoying this beautiful view. And you’ll find yourself overwhelmed by this stunning spot.
And if this is not enough for you, you should continue your walk, like I did. Walk back and make a right at Kent Avenue, and walk towards the bridge. Pass Urban Market of Williamsburg and between 9th and 10th there will be an opening down to Schaefer Landing Ferry Terminal. This is where the next sunset- spot is.
It truly is a work of art and I feel inspired to do, see and be everything. That’s how INEFFABLE this is, to me.
